BALDWIN CITY — The driver of a disabled pickup abandoned earlier this month at a bridge construction site on US-56 west of Baldwin City has been cited for leaving the scene of an accident. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office tells the Lawrence Journal-World that they believe 19-year-old Alexander Alsup of Baldwin City, drove around the barricades and tried to use a closed bridge when it became stuck in the construction zone. The sheriff’s office says he left the scene. A deputy later found Alsup trying to move the vehicle.
