PAOLA — Miami County firefighters battled a house fire on 287th Street near US-169 northeast of Paola Monday afternoon. Undersheriff Wayne Minckley says his department didn’t immediately have information on the extent of damage from the fire nor the cause. However, he says two construction workers were at the house working when the fire occurred.
