TOPEKA – Two out of state companies have been ordered to pay nearly $1million in combined penalties and fees for telemarketing law violations. Buzz Marketing and Communications, LLC, of Springfield, Missouri will pay $952,000, while San Diego-based WordSmart Corporation has agreed to pay $10,000 for violations of the No-Call act. Buzz Marketing called nearly 100 consumers on the no-call list trying to sell them vacation packages in Branson.
