TOPEKA – Two out of state companies have been ordered to pay nearly $1million in combined penalties and fees for telemarketing law violations. Buzz Marketing and Communications, LLC, of Springfield, Missouri will pay $952,000, while San Diego-based WordSmart Corporation has agreed to pay $10,000 for violations of the No-Call act. Buzz Marketing called nearly 100 consumers on the no-call list trying to sell them vacation packages in Branson. WordSmart called Kansas consumers attempting to sell standardized test computer software. If you would like to be addedto the national Do-Not-Call list, go to www.donotcall.gov.
