WELLSVILLE — Perhaps he should have looked again. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said John Franks, 43, Fontana, Calif.; was driving east on Pawnee Road at Vermont Road south of Wellsville Saturday night when he stopped his vehicle when he smelled of smoke. After checking, he continued on his way. He stopped just before Kk-33 and discovered his rear passenger wheel was in flames. The vehicle caught fire and was destroyed.
