TOPEKA — A 27-year-old Topeka man was sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison today for robbing a Lyndon State Bank branch in Topeka in February. Robert Eugene Gibson pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. Topeka police officers arrested Gibson at a gas station eight blocks from the bank branch on Fairlawn Road in Topeka shortly after the robbery.
