LYNDON — Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn is asking for help from the public in solving a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts in Osage County. She also urges Osage County residents to keep your keys and valuables out of vehicles and lock them up. Last week, a vehicle was stolen from Scranton but was recovered in Topeka. On Friday, a 1994 red and white Ford F-250 pickup truck was stolen from 144th and Topeka. In August, a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was stolen from Paulen Road and U.S. 56, a vehicle stolen near Burlingame was recovered in Topeka, and a 1969 green army truck was taken from 149th and Urish. Earlier this summer, a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup was taken from southeast of Burlingame, two ATVs from 149th and Urish, and a 1989 Chevy one-ton truck from south of Burlingame. Report any strange or suspicious activities by calling 911, calling the sheriff’s office at 828-3121 or Osage Crimestoppers at 1-877-OS-CRIME. Callers can remain anonymous. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves.
