GARNETT — Ottawa author Diana Staresinic-Deane will discuss her book about a notorious unsolved murder of a Coffey County farm wife at tonight’s meeting of the Anderson County Historical Society at 6:30 at the Anderson County High School commons, Garnett. Her book “Shadow on the Hill: The True Story of a 1925 Murder,” recounts the impact of the bloody murder of Florence Knoblock on the community, the botched investigation, and the two trials of her husband, who was eventually acquitted but never escaped from the cloud of suspicion about her death. There will be a book signing after the program. The potluck supper is free and open to the public. Bring a covered dish and table service.
Wednesday, Sept. 11, 3:30 p.m.
