GARNETT – Property owners opposed to a $316,000 exit out of Anderson County Junior-Senior High School have taken a step closer to legal action. The attorney representing seven residents and owners of property on Cleveland Street submitted a letter last month to the school board’s attorney, outlining their concerns. Overland Park attorney Nancy Crawford said in the letter that the board would be well advised not to ignore the potential risk of legal action, which if successful, could add over $100,000 to the cost of the project in direct damages. According to the Anderson County Review, the residents have been opposed to the exit since it was first introduced, saying they already have to deal with littering, trespassing, and criminal damage.
