OTTAWA — Ottawa University football player Erik Brown has been named the NAIA national defensive player of the week following his performance against Missouri Valley Saturday. Brown had three interceptions, a blocked field goal, six tackles and a sack in the Vraves’ upset of Missouri Valley. The Braves wanted to make a statement Saturday after they got clubbed last year by the Vikings in the national playoffs, Brown said. Brown leads the NAIA with four interceptions on the season.
