OTTAWA — A 24-year-old Ottawa man was hospitalized and a 26-year-old Ottawa man is in jail following a stabbing late Saturday night. Cameron Hartman was stabbed at a home in the 800 block of South Sycamore and was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center where he was treated and later released, Ottawa police said. A suspect ran from the house before officers arrived, Capt. Adam Weingartner said. Ottawa police and Franklin County deputies began searching for the suspect, he said. A man matching the description given by the victim and witnesses was captured near the intersection of East 8th and South Oak streets, he said. Ferris Fuller was booked into the Franklin County jail on suspicion of aggravated battery. He was in jail this morning. Weingartner said the case was being forwarded to the Franklin County Attorney’s office. He said Ottawa police detectives continue to investigate.
