OTTAWA — Ottawa University will offer another Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Class in partnership with the University of Kansas next month. In partnership with KU, Ottawa University will offer two courses on the OU campus this fall and a special discount for Alumni Association Members. “The Custer Brothers in Kansas” will be presented Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 on October 8, 15 and 22 at the Ward Science Building at OU. Former Librarian Roy Bird, who has written a book about George and Tom Custer, will discuss the Custers’ pivotal role in the Indian Wars and their five years in Kansas. The Osher Institute is offering 43 courses and 12 special events in Lawrence, Topeka and the greater Kansas City area. Members of the Alumni Associations of KU, OU, Kansas State University, Washburn University, Hutchinson Community College and Hesston College are eligible for a discount on the course fee.
