OTTAWA — Former Franklin County commissioner David Hood of Ottawa is a new local delegate to the Kansas Silver-Haired Legislature. The Silver-Haired Legislature meets today through Wednesday in Topeka. Among the topics to be considered by the legislators include returning hunting and fishing license exemptions for people 65 and older, supporting the Kansas Health Department’s “Optimizing Health” program, eliminating pay-day loans and legalizing marijuana for medical purposes.
