GARNETT – Sales tax collections are up 7.7 percent in Anderson County. This after the first half of 2013 when sales tax collections from local retailers dropped. However, since the start of the fiscal year in July, the trend has reversed. The Anderson County Review reports that in the city of Garnett, sales tax collections are up 12.4 percent, which includes collections in July, August, and September. The lower sales tax collections have been the trend for the last two years.
