PAOLA — The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a project marking the pavement on 11 miles of the U.S. 169 four-lane in Miami County today. The project is starting at Crescent Hill Road at Osawatomie and continue north to the south side of Baptiste Drive at Paola, KDOT said. The contractor, Action Safety Supply Company of Oklahoma City, will remove all existing pavement markings and replace them with new pavement markings. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work zone. The project should be finished by November, weather permitting, KDOT said.
