LEAWOOD — A Johnson County radiologist and President Obama’s second cousin will challenge U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts in the Republican primary. Milton Wolf, 42, Leawood; has never run for office but has gained attention in conservative and Tea Party circles for his family connection and his loud criticism of the Affordable Care Act. Wolf’s formal announcement said the nation is being “threatened by the politicians in Washington.”
He says he’s fighting for the Constitution and the “divinely-inspired American idea of individual liberty, limited government and free enterprise.” Roberts has nearly $1.5 million in cash in his campaign coffers and has drawn endorsements from most of the state’s Republican elected officials.
