OTTAWA–Contract talks between Ottawa School teachers and the School Board have hit a snag recently, but things may be improving. The Ottawa School Board has learned it may get some extra money due to better than expected enrollment figures, and so it has voted to give each licensed employee a $500 stipend. However, the money is not in the bank, because the district has to wait on final audited figures expected in December or January. If enrollment declined before final tallies, the $500 stipend could disappear.
