TOPEKA — Approximately 75 engineers from the Kansas National Guard are going to Colorado to help rebuild highways damaged by recent flooding. The Kansas National Guard members will deploy today and report to the Colorado National Guard armory in Boulder. They are expected to be deployed for about 18 days. The Kansas contingent includes Guard members the 891st Engineer Battalion at Iola, which includes the former Garnett detachment. At least one Guard member from the Garnett area will be deployed with the Iola unit.
