BALDWIN CITY – The number of candidates to be the next president of Baker University has been whittled down from 72 to nine. The Lawrence Journal-World reports that those nine candidates will be interviewed through november and after that, three finalists will emerge. Baker University is looking for a replacement for Dr. Pat Long, who announced that she will step down as president in June of 2014. The presidential search committee is looking for a president that has a firm grasp on modern models of higher education and who has an “entrepreneurial spirit.”
