GARNETT – An alleged assault aboard a USD 365 school bus remains under investigation. Authorities say a seven year old student was allegedly sitting with his legs on a seat across the aisle and not allowing other students to pass. An Anderson County Sheriff’s report states that the driver of the bus, Henry Ackmann, repeatedly told the boy to move, but when he refused, Ackmann picked him up by the backpack and slid him to one seat. However, the boy’s father, Kevin “Gunner” Calley says that the boy was assaulted and thrown to the floor. The Anderson County Review reports that Calley has sent his children to another school as a result of the incident and is hoping that criminal charges are filed against the bus driver.
