LAWRENCE — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis went for a familiar name in selecting his running mate. Wichita businesswoman Jill Docking will be Davis’ lieutenant governor candidate in his challenge to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer. She is a financial adviser who has served as chair of the Kansas Board of Regents. She is married to former lieutenant governor Tom Docking, who is the son of former governor Robert Docking, and grandson of former governor George Docking. Davis, who is House Minority Leader and state representative from Lawrence, announced the selection during a campaign swing Tuesday.
