OTTAWA – It’s Halloween and telephone and computer Internet service in an area around the courthouse is out today. It appears a fiber optic cable was cut but no one knows where exactly the problem is, nor how long the outage will last, Sheriff jeff Richards said. He said that phones and internet service to the sheriff’s office and district court aren’t working and no one can call into or out. However, Richards said the 911 emergency dispatch center is still operating and hasn’t been affected by the outage.
