BALDWIN CITY — International jazz star Kevin Mahogany will return to his alma mater, Baker University, to perform in the 16th annual Baker University Jazz Festival at Rice Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21. Fresh off a month-long tour of Europe, Mahogany will sing standard favorites with the Baker band, including “Satin Doll,” “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” and “A Foggy Day in London Town.” He will also be joined for a special combo set of some of his most popular tunes with Kansas City jazz musicians Ben Leifer, Ryan Lee and Matt Hopper. The concert is free and open to the public. During the week, Mahogany will serve as an artist in residence, working with Baker jazz students, and serve as head judge for a high school jazz band competition 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 22 in Rice Auditorium and McKibbin Recital Hall.
