SHAWNEE — A 28-year-old Ottawa woman was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center Tuesday afternoon as a result of a three-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of I-435 in Shawnee near Holiday Road. Zachary Congrove, 21, Shawnee, was driving south on I-435 when he made an unsafe lane change to the left and hit a pickup driven by Julio Canas, 37, Shawnee, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Canas’ pickup spun out of control and was struck by a car driven by Melissa Gillette, Ottawa. She was the only person injured. All three were wearing seat belts, the highway patrol said.
