LAWRENCE — A Pullitzer-Prize-winning author will talk about immigration and literature at Kansas University at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Junot Díaz, author of the novel “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” and short story collection “This is How You Lose Her,” will speak in the Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union. His lecture, “An Evening With Junot Díaz: Literature, Diaspora and Immigration,” is part of the Hall Center for the Humanities Lecture Series and is free and open to the public. The Hall Center also will host an informal question-and-answer session with Diaz Tuesday morning at 10 in the conference hall. That is also free and open to the public. As a child, Díaz emigrated from the Dominican Republic to New Jersey. This experience is the focus of most of his writings. He is currently working on a science fiction novel titled “Monstro.”
