LYNDON — A Lyndon-based social agency has received a state grant to discourage substance abuse among high-school-age teens. Drug Free Osage County received a $22,500 grant from the Kansas Dept. for Aging and Disability Services. It was one of 16 awarded across the state. Using these grants, community groups and school districts will start evidence-based strategies that have an impact on youth substance use. Some tactics include discouraging retail access, increasing family involvement and better enforcement.
