POMONA — One person was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, and two other people were possibly injured in a three-vehicle chain-reaction accident just east of Pomona Monday afternoon. All three vehicles were going west along K-68 about a quarter-mile east of Pomona when the crash occurred, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Mirasol Dopp, 24, Ottawa, stopped behind a vehicle was trying to make a left-hand turn off the highway. Kyle Schiller, 18, Pomona; stopped behind Dopp’s car. A third car, which was driven by Keith Bergkamp, 30, Vassar; couldn’t stop in time and rear-ended Schiller’s car, which hit Dopp’s car, the highway patrol said. Schiller was taken to the hospital. Dopp and a baby who was a passenger in her car, may have been injured but weren’t taken to the hospital, the highway patrol said. Bergkamp wasn’t injured. All were wearing seat belts and the baby was properly restrained in an infant seat.
