OTTAWA — A philosophical question. If there’s a crash and no one hangs around to report it, was there a noise? The answer is yes – as well as a bunch of tickets when police catch up to the crashees. Ottawa police said a vehicle driven by Huey Tubbs, 57, Lawrence; struck a car driven by Dakota Schimmel, 22, Melvern; at Davis and Enterprise Saturday morning. However, Ottawa police say both of them left the scene of the accident. Witnesses and insurance companies helped Ottawa police catch up with them. Tubbs was cited with leaving the scene, failure to report, no insurance, illegal registration and improper left turn. Schimmel was cited with leaving the scene and failure to report.
