KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Gov. Sam Brownback, state commerce and Wyandotte County-Kansas City officials took part in a grand opening in the newest affordable housing development in Kansas City, Kan., the City View at St. Margaret’s. The Foutch Brothers Development company rehabilitated the 126-year-old historic former St. Margaret’s Hospital into an elderly apartment complex of 111 energy-efficient, loft-style apartments. The firm used state tax credits to complete the $16.2 million renovation project. The Foutch Brothers converted the old Ottawa middle school into the Washburn Towers housing development several years ago.
