TOPEKA — The Kansas Historical Society will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the new visitor center in the newly restored Kansas State Capitol 10 a.m. Thursday in Topeka. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony and tour the exhibits. With the help of an anonymous donor, Franklin County 4-Hers raised $1,000 to pay the county’s share of a special marble floor map at the visitors center of all the state’s counties. Guest speakers include Gov. Sam Brownback and Topeka Mayor Larry Wolgast. Following the ceremony, the Capitol store will be open and refreshments will be served in the dining room.
