GARNETT — After about a decade, Anderson County will have a tax sale on March 24.
The Anderson County Review reported that county counselor James Campbell told county commissioners the March 24 date is tentative because he has to attend a trial that could take up to seven weeks but should be able to attend the sale. The county’s last tax sale was 10 years ago, although a delinquent mineral rights sale was held four years ago. County officials hope to recoup up to $310,000 in past due taxes and get properties back on the tax rolls.
