OTTAWA – Those parking in a restricted area on a street to the north of Ottawa University will soon see “no parking” signs going up in parking restricted areas. During the Ottawa City Commission study session Monday, Police Chief Dennis Butler noted there’s been a problem with illegal parking along the street for several years. Police have tried to educate people about the restrictions but Butler told commissioners the gentle approach has failed, so “no parking” signs need to be posted and violators will be ticketed. The measure is expected to get commission approval at its regular meeting next week.
