PLEASANTON — A 58-year-old Mound City man was killed Friday afternoon when a dump truck hit his car southwest of Pleasanton. Roy Bright, 64, Pleasanton; was driving a dump truck north on Scott Road near Pleasanton when he stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of K-52, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. He told a trooper he didn’t see any traffic and pulled out, but hit a car driven by Steven Nickelson, Mound City, who was driving west on K-52. Nickelson was killed. Bright wasn’t injured. Both men were wearing seat belts, the highway patrol said.
