OTTAWA — An Ottawa man received a month in the Franklin County jail after he agreed to a plea deal in connection with a dragnet following a domestic dispute early last year. Justin Wheeler pleaded no contest to battery and criminal restraint. He received a one-year sentence in state prison but that was suspended. Instead, Wheeler will receive one year of supervised probation after the 30-day sentence. He was charged in connection with an incident in which a 19-year-old woman fled from his home north of Ottawa in January 2013 to a neighbor’s and was told of being held against her will and told deputies that Wheeler was armed. Deputies surrounded the home but he avoided the ring. Wheeler was captured on foot by Ottawa police near the golf course later in the day.
