COLONY — Anderson County emergency crews had to cut a rural firefighter out of her vehicle while she was fighting a grass fire in southwest Anderson County west of Colony this morning. She issued a distress call saying she was injured and trapped in her vehicle after it hit a tree. A helicopter ambulance flew to the scene, and she was loaded aboard after she was extricated approximately at noon. More details weren’t immediately available.
