OTTAWA — Ottawa police have interviewed one person and contacted another in connection with a domestic disturbance in which a 35-year-old Ottawa man was hit by a vehicle and a 37-year-old Quenemo woman was briefly kidnapped. Detectives interviewed a woman who was believed to be in the car at the time of the incident, Capt. Adam Weingartner said. She was released after the interview. Investigators have been in contact by e-mail and telephone with a man who was believed to be driving the vehicle, he said. So far, the man hasn’t been willing to meet officers face-to-face and has avoided being picked up, Weingartner said. Gerald Collins was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle at near the intersection of East Sixth and Burroughs during the dispute. The woman from Quenemo was forced into the car but escaped shortly thereafter and wasn’t injured.
