OTTAWA — Three suspects who are being held in connection with last week’s robbery of the Goppert State Service Bank in Pomona may soon get a quick trip out the Franklin County jail. Sheriff Jeff Richards told county commissioners Wednesday morning that because bank robbery is a federal crime, federal authorities may come get the three. County detectives have been working the case and have turned over evidence to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Richards said. It will be up to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom whether he wants to issue federal bank robbery charges in the case, Richards said. Caleb Jeffcoat, 26; Christel Collins, 27; and Robert Lee Martin, 39, all of Quenemo; were booked into the jail Friday in connection with the robbery.
