PAOLA – Two Bull Creek bridges near Paola will be due for work. The bridge on 303rd Street west of Paola will be closed for the summer and part of the fall, and motorists will have to find detours. The bridge will be rehabilitated, with the deck and abutments replaced. The work will eliminate the weight restrictions, which will allow Taylor Forge to haul large loads across the bridge. Work on the Bull Creek bridge on K-68 northeast of Paola will begin Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation said. One-lane traffic will be carried through the work zone using temporary traffic signals. KDOT said motorists can expect brief delays at the bridge site. The project will be finished by the end of June, weather permitting.
