OTTAWA — The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a pavement and shoulder reconstruction project on K-68 east of Ottawa on Monday, weather permitting. The project starts at the junction of K-68 and I-35 and continues east for a little more than a mile. The project will include adding turn lanes at the entrance of the Wal-Mart distribution center. Two-way traffic will go through the construction zone. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by early autumn. KDOT awarded the construction contract of $2.7 million to Emery Sapp & Sons of Kansas City.
