NEW LANCASTER — A motorcyclist was killed this afternoon when his bike ran into an SUV turning onto U.S. 69 near New Lancaster in southeastern Miami County. Miami County Undersheriff Wayne Minckley identified the motorcyclist as Max Wood, 25, rural LaCygne. The SUV was going east on 359th Street and was making a left-hand turn onto U.S. 69, Minckley said. Wood was riding west and his motorcycle collided into the SUV, he said. The driver of the SUV, who was not identified, was not injured and released from the scene. The accident is still under investigation, Minckley said.
