COLONY — Two Iola girls were injured Sunday evening when the ATV they were riding flipped over in a ditch near Colony. Breanna Brockman, 26, Colony, was driving an ATV east on Jefferson Road with two children riding on it, the Kansas Highway Patrol told the Anderson County Review. The highway patrol said she was apparently was driving too fast when she tried to turn south onto East County Road. The ATV turned over in the ditch, and Grockman and the two girls, 12-year-old Elizabeth Crawford, 12, and Hanna Smith, 9; were thrown from the vehicle and struck a metal fence. The girls were taken to Allen County Hospital in Iola. Brockman wasn’t injured.
