WILLIAMSBURG — The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating a body found in a burned vehicle today along I-35 southwest of Williamsburg. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said emergency personnel found the body and burning vehicle just off the northbound lanes of I-35 late this morning. The vehicle was going south on the northbound lanes before it ended in a field near the highway, the sheriff’s office said. The northbound lanes were closed briefly. A highway patrol crash team was expected to close the northbound lanes again this afternoon as part of the investigation.
