WILLIAMSBURG — The Kansas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the case of a body found in a burned vehicle Wednesday along I-35 southwest of Williamsburg. Emergency personnel found the body and burning vehicle just off the northbound lanes of I-35. Sheriff Jeff Richards said the vehicle was going south when it crossed the median strip and went into the north-bound lanes and off the highway into a field. “The vehicle then did catch on fire,” Richards said. There was no immediate information on whether the man in the burned vehicle died because of the crash, the fire or other causes.
