OTTAWA — An Ottawa woman will lay the Wreath on the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day. Local veterans activist Sherry Wright-Anderson, who is regional director for the Vietnam Veterans of America group said it’s a honor she wasn’t expecting. “Who would ever think a little girl from Ottawa Kansas would have that honor?,” she asked. She said she also expects to spend the day distributing literature about veterans issues and the VVAW at the Vietnam Memorial. She helped organize the VVAW chapter in Ottawa and the Franklin County Veterans Memorial.
