WELLSVILLE — A shooting in Wellsville that left one person dead Tuesday remains under investigation. Wellsville police went to a home in the 200 block of West Third Street shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of someone with a gunshot wound, Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said. The death was being regarded as suspicious. The identity of the victim hasn’t been released. Wellsville Police Chief John Blair requested the help of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Richards said. The KBI is now in charge of the investigation, Richards said. There is nothing to indicate that the public is in danger, he said.
