LAWRENCE — The victim of Monday night’s shooting on U.S. 59 south of Lawrence has been identified as Skylar Workman, 24, Lawrence. Workman called 911 after he was shot. Workman was flown to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, where he is recuperating. Investigators don’t believe the shooting was a random act of violence, Douglas County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Lewis said. The department is confident U.S. 59 is a safe road to travel, day or night, Lewis said. Anyone who may have any information about this incident is encouraged to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s office or Douglas County Crimestoppers.
