OTTAWA – To mark the 150th anniversary of the city of Ottawa, the Franklin County Historical Society’s fourth annual Lunch & Learn series will feature the original Ottawa Town Company members: Rev. Isaac Kalloch, C.C. Hutchinson, Asa Lathrop, John Richmond, C.T. Evans, and Ottawa Indians John Tecumseh “Tauy” Jones, Joseph Badger King, James Wind and William Hurr. The first in the series will be noon Thursday at the Franklin County Records and Research Center, 1124 W. Seventh Street Terrace. Thursday’s talk will focus on Kalloch and Hutchinson, whose checkered and colorful careers will be a rousing start to the series, Deborah Barker, historical society executive director, said. Besides learning about the founders, those attending will examine original artifacts relating to them, as well as photographs, she said. The talks are free and no reservations are needed. Everyone is invited to bring their lunches, and water and iced tea will be provided by the historical society.
