BLUE MOUND — A 24-year-old Blue Mound woman was killed after the motorcycle she was riding spilled Saturday afternoon in Linn County. Jerry Purdy, 24, Blue Mound, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle east on K-31 about five miles east of Blue Mound when he made an emergency braking maneuver, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. The motorcycle skidded sideways, throwing him and his passenger, Trisha Purdy. She was dead at the scene, the highway patrol said. He was flown by helicopter to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
