GARNETT — Garnett will play host to two Independence Day events. Fireworks will light up the skies tonight for the annual Libertyfest display. Tonight’s display, which is sponsored by the Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce, will be at North Lake Park. Gates open at 6:30. The Garnett Community Band will perform at 8, with the fireworks at dusk. A free community Fourth of July breakfast will be 8 a.m. Friday at the Garnett Senior Center. The senior center board will provide biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee and table service. Everyone who attends is asked to bring a breakfast item to share, such as fruit or breakfast rolls. Everyone is welcome.
