OTTAWA — The city of Ottawa has received a special state alternative transportation grant for sidewalks and bike lanes on 15th Street. The Kansas Dept. of Transportation grant for a little more than $223,000 to Ottawa is among 20 grants awarded to groups or municipalities across the state. The Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism will receive a grant of nearly $2 million for Phase II development of the Flint Hills Nature Trail through Ottawa and which runs between Osawatomie and Herington. Baldwin City will receive a little more than $145,390 for improvements to the exterior of the Baldwin City railroad depot.
