LeLOUP — A Sterling woman was hospitalized following a one-vehicle crash along i-35 near LeLoup Sunday afternoon. Melanie Twineham, 64, Hutchinson, was driving south on I-35, five miles south of Wellsville, when her car dropped off the side of the road, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. She over-corrected and lost control of her car, the highway patrol said. The car ran off the right side of the road, went through a ditch and hit a tree. Her passenger, Marilyn Lawrence, 86, Sterling, was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital. Twineham wasn’t injured. They were both wearing seat belts.
